Golf
Madeira is already a well-known destination for golf lovers, who enjoy staying at the Albatroz throughout the year. Many top professional golf players also stay at the hotel, for the Madeira Open, an important golf tournament in the European PGA.
The mild climate and the strategic locations of its golf courses in relatively high parts of the island make playing golf enjoyable all year around. It is certainly one of the very few places in Southern Europe where you can comfortably play even in the hot summer months.
The Albatroz is located in a privileged part of the Island, only ten minutes away from Santo da Serra, home to the Madeira Island Open. Santo da Serra is one of the most spectacular golf courses in Europe, with beautiful views over the sea, the mountains and neighbouring islands.
Our guests receive special rates when playing at Santo da Serra.
Levada walks
The Madeira levadas are walking paths in the mountains. In the old days these streams took the water to all parts of the island. Nowadays, these levada walks are beautiful routes that take tourists on long walks throughout the Madeira’s hills and forests to enjoy the wonderful landscapes.
Take advantage of this opportunity and enjoy the dazzling views, which are a well-known UNESCO world heritage site. You can also take long walks through the magnificent Madeira grassy valleys, which can be found along tracks built by past generations.
Boat trips
As an island, Madeira offers a variety of different water sports. Boat trips allow you to experience another perspective and also memorable view of the island.
